London’s favourite Sushi restaurant, Nobu. Located on Old Park Lane, occupying the first floor of The Metropolitan Hotel, Nobu London was the first European venture for outstanding Japanese chef Nobu Matsushia. And here’s a little fact for you, Robert De Niro is a partner.
It was a meritorious feast from start to finish. To wet our appetite we began with the Spinach Salad with Dry Miso and Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno, both incredibly tasty and who knew a simple salad could have so much flavor. For mains, we indulged on Sushi Rolls, Sashimi, Scallops, Sweet Shrimp and Beef Tenderloin Tataki. The Sashimi was my favourite, but all plates were licked clean after some Instagram worthy presentation.
One thing I particularly enjoyed about Nobu was the open kitchen, I love watching the Chefs work their magic, it looked like they were creating art rather than food. Everything is so light and fresh so of course we had room for dessert, Nobu’s home-made ice cream (we may have ordered every flavor on the menu) but I would highly recommend the coconut and passion fruit flavors if you have a sweet tooth!
All in all it was a superb evening of excellent food, impeccable service and a tick off my London bucket list. I cannot wait to return!
