Young British womenswear designer Charlie May’s blog is one of our favourites! Charlie started her blog Girl a la Mode in 2008, this has become one of the UKs top fashion blogs and has since been featured in magazines such as Elle, Company, Grazia Italia, among others. Charlie draws inspiration from her surroundings, her lifestyle shots are glossy magazine worthy and will have you desperate for her style. If you love your staples and neutrals then this is the blog to follow!
Q. How long have you been blogging?
I started the blog in August 2008, so 5 years now.
Q. What inspired you to start a blog?
I was studying fashion design at university in Bristol and wanted a place to upload my design and editorial inspirations. I was following other blogs at the time but nothing was exactly what I was into, so seeing a niche I thought I’d see how far I could take mine.
Q. What subjects do you love blogging about?
I still post about inspirations, but now I love creating my own content in the way of outfit photos, featuring my own designs, and favourite locations around London and Devon.
Q. What has been your highlight so far?
Farfetch taking me to Paris is still one of the highlights for me. Any kind of travel through the blog is just amazing!
Q. What is your personal style?
Minimal, tailored and a bit androgynous; I love clean lines and a muted colour palette.
Q. What is your favourite item in your wardrobe?
This changes all the time but I would say currently my white pointed Céline shoes.
Q. What other blogs do you follow?
Some of my favourites are Love Aesthetics, Stop It Right Now, and Vanilla Scented.
Q. Any tips for those aspiring bloggers out there starting their own blog?
Make sure you have passion, can work on it everyday and have something unique and original to give the community.
Q. What are your top 3 pre-loved picks from www.buymywardrobe.com?
This Chanel organza top is so beautiful and this Helmut Lang jacket is perfect for Summer. Acne skinny leather pants, a wardrobe staple!
