By Lori on Oct 21 2013

We are happy to introduce you to Charis of Style Charisma. We are daily followers of Charis's beautifully shot Instagram as well as her stylish blog. Charis has a degree in Clinical Embryology and is off to pursuit her career in fashion at Parsons in New York City. We look forward to watching Charis's story play out and of course see the outfits she chooses along the way!

Q. What made you start blogging?

To be honest there wasn’t really a pivotal moment that made me decide to start blogging. The decision was more of a natural evolution of my interest in fashion, clothes and styling. Being a huge fan of numerous international blogs there was a time in my life – about a year ago – when I decided to give blogging a try and here I am :)

Q. Talk us through a typical day in your life?

Right now, I’m at a point in my life where I’m taking a few months off studying therefore my whole day revolves around the blog. I’m always looking out for emerging talents in the fashion industry, therefore my days are mostly filled with meetings with such individuals or with different companies for potential collaborations and of course blogging. Family time and going out with my friends are also essential parts of my daily life.

Q. What’s the best thing about being a blogger?

Undoubtedly, the best part about being a blogger is the opportunity to meet people from all around the world who share your passion and vision.

Q. What other blogs do you read and why?

I follow about 70 blogs daily but there are a few that stand out:

  • Stockholm Street Style – for street style photos and inspiration
  • Fashion Vibe – I just love how simple yet stylish Zina is
  • Sincerely Jules – her ability to mix and match blows me away
  • The Blonde Salad – I love how her blog has allowed her to travel around the world and collaborate with the biggest names in the fashion industry

Q. Where do you love to shop?

I’m more of a high-street kind of girl so Zara and Asos are my first go-to choices. For more one-of-a-kind pieces I love discovering vintage shops and markets in different cities around the world.

Q. We see you studied Clinical Embryology but are now moving into Fashion Design. What made you make this change?

The change was planned all along. Despite my genuine love and passion for fashion, I’m a realist and I know how competitive this industry is. So I decided to complete my studies in the science field before pursuing my dream. Even though my previous two degrees may have delayed the inevitable, I don’t regret this choice since I not only have a back-up choice in case things don’t work out but I am able to enter the competitive world of fashion as a mature individual.

Q. What is your long-term strategy for the blog?

Turning blogging into a full-time job has never been my goal. I created this blog simply because it’s something that I love to do. If I were to have a long-term wish that would be to have the opportunity to attend fashion week and collaborate with influential people from the fashion industry.

Q. What are your three favourite pieces in your wardrobe?

My pair of leather pants that can be worn from day to night, a comfy colour-blocked sweater for those cold winter days and my classic Chanel bag.

Q. What would be the soundtrack to your life right now?

Empire State of Mind just because I can’t wait to start my journey and life in New York :)

Q. What are your three favourite items on
