A few weekends ago the beautiful Katie of The Wardrobe Insider and I packed our bags and headed for Nottingham to offer our Personal Styling expertise to a fab shopping centre 'Walk-In-Wardrobe' project, organised by Claire of CW Style another fellow #Stylistwelove. For 3 days our super-styling skills were put to the test in back-to-back, 1-2-1 30 min styling sessions & fashion masterclasses, on everything from how to dress for your body shape, the beauty of accessorising and how to rock the season's top trends, to day-to-night dressing and picking the perfect colours for you.
Completely hectic, always varied and absolutely the most rewarding few days of styling yet, below are a few candid snapshots of our hilarious trip. Red carpets to the most fabulously fierce clients and bad-hair day Fedora's, it was totally a weekend to love.
Nothing less than the royal treatment for every client…Special pods decked out with an abundance of mirrors and the most beautiful accessories to covet. Our office for the three days.
My favourite client of the weekend, Wemmy. Isn't she beyond beautiful? She had such strong, contrasting features and the most stunning colouring, all she needed was a serious hit of cobalt, some statement jewels and those amazing T-bar stiletto's.
Standard stylist selfie…Sunday called for an easy suited silhouette, a hair saving hat and the biggest neck piece I own.
Personal Styling is all about the individual; understanding each client's wants, needs and lifestyle is the key to guiding them towards their perfect look, one which best reflects THEM, to then build them a wardrobe they can't wait to pick from in the morning. Body Shape, profession, passions, wants, children, travel…I will never bore of helping clients dress for who they are, find them a style which suits THEIR life, their body, their colouring. It's the most rewarding job, and I love it.
Weekends like the above just make it all the more fun…
