Blogger Of The Week: Wendy Gilmour of ThankFifi

By Lori on Jan 20 2014

We meet Wendy from one of the loveliest blogs ThanksFifi. Wendy has been featured in the likes of Vogue, Stockholm Streetstyle, Elle, InStyle and many more! Read where it all began and get an introduction to her very stylish furry friend.

Q:Why did you start your blog?

A:Over coffee with a friend she suggested that my love of fashion, style and photography would mean that if I started a blog she at least would read it. So I did. (Her name is Fi and so the name was born).

Q:How did you get interested in fashion and why is it important?

A: Fashion has always been important to me - I guess it's like a creative expression.

Q:Describe your personal style and its influences/inspiration?

A: I'd say my style is 75% classic, 25% fashion victim. As I grow older I've become very interested in investing in closet classics which are great quality. Alongside that I look to the highstreet for the fashion victim bit. Other bloggers are my biggest source of inspiration and I love saving favourite looks on Pinterest for a rainy day.

Q:We love that your pup features heavily in your blog. What is his story?

A: He's a 6 year old Finnish Lapphund and he probably wishes he wasn't so heavily featured! He's my boy and we do everything together so it makes sense that he is a big part of the blog too. I think there are a lot of my readers who are more interested in MrK than my style...

Q:What is your next "must have" purchase?

A: Hmmm, I am on the hunt for a really great cross body bag - nothing too wild but a classic with an edge would just about fit the bill.

Q:We really enjoy your food posts. How did you get into writing about this?

A: My blog really is simply an extension of my life (or the good parts at least) and of course I love to cook when I have time so now and again I think it's fun to share a recipe. I seem to waver between super healthy recipes and full fat full fun recipes - there is no rule.

Q:What do you do when you aren’t blogging?

A: I am pr/marketing manager for a wonderful interior textiles brand called bluebellgray so I spent a lot of time in the studio there. If I'm not blogging or working... I'm probably sleeping! I do love to go for long dog walks and have alfresco coffees all year round so on the weekends that's usually what's clogging up my instagram feed.

Q:If you could be dressed by one designer, who would it be?

A:I'm going with Carven but, like fashion, I am fickle and would likely give you another answer tomorrow - there are so many great designers I truly love but I would never genuinely want to be confined to only one.

Q:What would the soundtrack to your life be right now?

A: The Reckoning Song - the lyrics are just so great. One day baby we'll be old and think of all the stories that we could've told... So true and I try to live by that and just say yes.

Q:What are your three favourite items on
