It is with great pleasure to introduce you to Kirsty Jones. Her blog and portfolio speak volumes about her effortless style....
Why did you start your blog?
Its something I have a passion about, so it’s more like a hobby. It’s basically a visual diary of my style and I wanted to share it with everyone.
How did you get interested in fashion and why is it important? Describe your personal style and its influences/inspiration?
Fashion is so important because it’s a way of presenting my personality through what I wear. My style is fairly simple, where I aim to balance colour and texures so it doesn’t look too much. I tend to purchase classic pieces that allow me to mix and match and, although I try not to follow fashion trends, occasionally I find them difficult to resist. I love the summer shoe trend of mules and sliders at the moment, these are an easy way to bring a classic outfit up to date.
A fashion rule you never break?
Rules are made to be broken. The important thing is to feel confident and comfortable in what you’re wearing. I tend to stick to the” less is more rule” and I dislike the phrase ‘you can never be too overdressed’ in my opinion there is plenty of evidence that individuals can be way overdressed.
What do you do when you aren’t blogging?
I am either in the gym, socialising with friends, having a coffee or lunch, or continuing my online shopping addiction (especially eBay.)
What is your next "must have" purchase?
I’ve recently discovered Northern Lights sunglasses by Karen Walker. I’m going to the South of France in a couple of weeks so I plan to take a pair with me.
The first thing you look at in another person's outfit is?
It would probably be a handbag. Everyone needs a good, classic designer handbag in they’re lives!
What would the soundtrack to your life be right now?
I’m heading to watch the Arctic Monkeys this weekend so it would have to be something from them. Something that will get me in the mood such as Arabella or Brianstorm. Most importantly what am I going to wear!?
