It's FINALLY here, the day all our efforts for the past six weeks come to an end. Christmas Jumper Day's initiative is for employees to donate £1 to charity to wear their Christmas Jumper to work. As there is only three of us in the office on a daily basis, we didn't want to just do the minimal of £3. So a project that started last year: we spontaneously decided against buying our Christmas jumpers from the high street, and took our hand to a needle to upcycle donated preloved jumpers into festive jumpers. Last year, we managed to create and sell eight jumpers for Christmas Jumper day with all the profits going to Save The Children.
This year, in an effort to do one better, we invited you, our community to come join us at a series of workshops to help us create festive jumpers from the kindly donated ones we received. The workshops were a hit and it was so much fun to meet some of BuyMyWardrobes loyal followers. It really did showcase what an amazing fashion community our company has at the heart of it.
After a lot of felt cutting, needle pricking and the odd glass of red wine and a Christmas carol. We have managed to create thirty Christmas jumpers and raised more than £450 for Save The Children!
A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who donated a jumper, attended a workshop and of course bought a jumper!
There are still a few Christmas jumpers available if you'd like to get one in time for the big day!
