Pantone selects a color at the end of every year to reflect what they believe will become a major design trend, across all design platforms, in the coming year. Pantone has announced that Marsala is the colour of 2015.
Pantone describes Marsala as an unifying element -"The impactful, full-bodied qualities of Marsala make for an elegant, grounded statement color when used on its own or as a strong accent to many other colours."
In fashion terms, take notes from Olivia Palermo who dresses head to toe in marsala for that grand impact that Pantone speak of when marsala stands alone. Or if colour isn't your thing and you want a more subtle approach to the trend, then why not trade in your black accessories on BuyMyWardrobe and invest in a richer hue(marsala) to make that impact against your neutral wardrobe staples.
We say marsala is best in soft fabrics such as cashmere, wool or silk.
