Blogger of the week... Ella Catliff of La Petite Anglaise.

By Alex Churton on Feb 08 2013

This week our blogger of the week is 21 year old Londoner Ella Catliff, of La Petite Anglaise, who divides her time between blogging, modelling and studying Fashion History and Theory at Central Saint Martins. Ella has been blogging for nearly 3 years and her blog now takes her to Milan, Paris and New York in fashion month. We chatted to Ella about why she started blogging and what’s in her own wardrobe (which ladies you can now raid online)!

How long have you been blogging?

I started my blog in May 2010.

What inspired you to start a blog?

My mum actually saw an article about Tavi Gevinson and ripped it out for me, at the time I thought she was being ridiculous then decided to give it a shot when I went to Paris to intern. I thought at least then I’d actually have something to blog about.

What subjects do love blogging about?

I love doing styling posts, especially when brands like Whistles or Jaeger unleash me in their stores.

What has been your highlight so far?

It’s a close call between going to Milan and Florence with Gucci last year and New York Fashion Week in September!

What is your personal style?

Preppy with a twist, Blair Waldorf meets Alexa Chung… Or at least I like to think so.

What is your favourite item in your wardrobe?

My Mulberry Tillie tote. I had wanted one FOREVER then recklessly spent an entire term’s student loan on it. I basically had to live off rice for the next few months but it was so worth it!

What other blogs do you follow?

I absolutely LOVE Derek Blasberg’s blog. He’s just about the most fabulous thing on the planet and I want his life!

Any tips for those aspiring bloggers out there starting their own blog?

Stick at it. For the first 4 months my only readers were my mum and my boyfriend but I’m very glad I didn’t give up, despite being tempted on several occasions!
